Divagation (pochette originale)Et bien, voici l’un de mes « premiers tubes qui pettent » !! et présenter sur le concept « Cyborg Jeff & DJ Vanoïd »… dans la mesure ou ce cher DJ Vanoïd (Cédric Vanrutten) organisait alors de temps à autre quelques animations soirée, j’avais essayé de lui composer un tube qu’il pourrait passer en exclusivité !!!

Et justement, le 19 décembre, le titre allait être diffusé lors de la soirée d’anniversaire de François Barré… et bien mettre l’ambiance !! Bon, y avait grillé l’ampli,… mais on s’était vraiment bien amusé… Alors c’est comique à raconter, mais pour l’époque, comment « mixer » un module en soirée… sans avoir de graveur CD… et bien tout simplement en utilisant l’ordinateur comme table de mixage…. sans soucis pour mettre des modules… Ça parait bièsse… mais à l’époque… on avait même pas de fichier MP3 !!

Moon Day fera partie de mon tout premier album CD, Divagation, réalisé en avril 97… D’ailleurs, je reste assez étonné du nombre de personne cherchant après ce titre sur Google… On le retrouve également dans pas mal de vidéo Youtube (ceci expliquant cela)… dû à sa bonne visibilité sur le portail Jamendo.

Un grand coucou d’époque à DJ Dim (Dimitri Laermans), Nicolas Laermans, Philippe Dechaine, JedD (Jean-Denis Magis), Parmy (Laurent Mazzapicchi), V-Drums (Vivien Vanoirbeek), Deedee (Ferdinant Christiaens), Len Sapp, Raphaël Lazzari, Delphine Magis, Mr Xav (Xavier Strivay), Pascal Deiting, Pierrick Hansen, Romuald Dispa, Steph & Virgi, Tbob (Valentin Boigelot), La Puce (Simon Boigelot), Franco (François Barré), Claire Gilles, Gilloen (Alain Gillon) et Smooty.

So well, here is my first big hit that rocks ! presented under Cyborg Jeff & DJ Vanoïd Concept… Where i write tracks and my friend Cédric Vanrutten, playing the DJ try to spread the songs…

And then at the birthday party of my friend François Barré, that song works ! … And we explode the amplification… Anyway that was fun !

Moon Day would be include in my first CD Album : Divagation released in april 1997… It’s fun to notice that for now, that songs is often searched on Google…. and also used in amateur movie-clip on Youtube… May be cause it received a good visibility on Jamendo’s musical portal !

Et me voilà donc avec un « nouveau » remix de B.B.E. – Seven days and one week… Enfin, un « officiel » tout du moins, car pour mémoire, le titre Indice n°1 composé une mois plus tôt, n’était pas vraiment un remix intentionnel.

Cette fois, la mélodie est plus proche de l’original, mais l’arrangement est plus profond, plus personnalisé… une petite production pour montrer à mon ami Seb (Sébastien Valenti) ce que j’étais capable de réaliser avec mon Scream Tracker III.

Vous aillant déjà présenter l’original la dernière fois… voici un petit remix plus moderne réaliser par Tomcraft… assez puissant 😉

So, here is a new remix of B.B.E. – Seven days and one week… well an official one, cause if you remember the song written one month before : Indice n°1 was not an intentional remix. That time I write a melody closer to the original one but with more deep arrangement… A production realised to show my friend Sebastien Valentin what i’m able to do with my Scream Tracker III !

track 14, Gimme an Amiga (1996-2012)

Avec ce nouveau morceau je me lançais dans un petit défis d’animation sous mon Scream Tracker III. Ce nouveau titre, orienté Trance reprend pas mal d’éléments que l’on retrouve dans les morceaux Trance – House qui marche de l’époque… un string hachés, des sons à la B.B.E., des variations de tempos… Le titre était très entrainant, et j’ai eu alors envie de transcender les petites animations que je réalisais parfois dans mon soft de création musicale… Jetter un oeil à la vidéo au niveau des 3 premières pistes… Creative Sound Studio apparait en animation « plop », suivi d’un rideau de « String Tracking »… puis les lettres de by Cyborg Jeff qui tombe et file à droite sous un « fiooouw »… pour laisser place un scroll text « String Tracking »… une fameuse chipoterie hein !

Le morceau plaisait énormément à mon frangin Pype, c’est pourquoi j’ai un peu plus tard, réalisé une version 6 pistes adaptée à son player S3M codé en Assembleur.

Ces petites animations m’avaient pris un temps de fou… et pas de chance une mauvaise manipulation me fit appuyer sur la touche interdite ‘²’ qui fait planter Scream Tracker 🙁 … j’ai donc dû tout recommencer le lendemain…

With this new track, I launched me a challenge with a new animation in Scream Tracker III. This trance song was influenced by a lot of Trance-House hit with cutted string, B.B.E. inspiration and tempo variations. So i would like to create a powerfull text animation with my audio software. So have a look to the three first tracks… Creative Sound Studio appears with a « plop » animation, then a row of « String Tracking » and the letters of « by cyborgjeff » falling from the sky…

And you should know during i was working hard on that, i push the bad button « ² » that make crashed Scream Tracker… So i should restarted it the next day…

This song also be rewrite in 6 tracks cause my bros Pype realy like it… So then could be compatible with the S3M player he coded in ASM.

Tiens, tiens, cela faisait longtemps que je n’avais plus composé de titre de ce genre… exit les titres Dance, Trance et Techno… Voici un morceau bien oldskool, voir chiptunes (72ko) qui aurait pu faire merveille comme bande son pour un shoot’m up sur Amiga 500.

Le genre de titre où je peux un peu me déchainer… je m’en souviens encore, preuve en est les petites animations « scream tracker III » qui font leur retour après quelques temps d’absence.

Ceci dit, resté longtemps dans l’ombre d’un projet de 2° album remix, le musicien français Xenon (Fabrice Tonnelier) avait réalisé en 2006 une version remix un peu rock rétro très sympathique que je vous invite à découvrir en exclusivité !

So, a long time i didn’t have write song like this… stop Dance and Trance music… i was back to the roots with an oldschool maybe chiptunes track that could be great as sound track for an amiga shoot’m up…

Such kind of song that i’m happy to have written…

So long time lost in a never released project here is a rock remix version realised by the french musician Xenon (Fabrice Tonnelier)

Ma période Fast Tracker II ne sera pas très longue… toute l’automne 1996, mais elle m’aura permis de faire quelques titres assez différents de ce que j’avais fait jusque là. Notre groupe de musique de reprise pop avait enfin trouvé un nom définitif : Virtual Music… et à l’approche d’un important concert à la Mare aux Joncs de Seraing, nous travaillons de nombreux nouveaux morceaux… dont une excellente nouveauté pop du groupe allemand Fool’s Garden – Lemon Tree…  J’avais donc eu envie d’en faire une version un peu plus « Dance »… Le résultat est assez moyen, un peu trop lent, mais un bon exercice pour retrouver les notes et accords du morceau afin de le jouer ensuite dans notre groupe… A défaut d’avoir pu ajouter toutes les paroles du morceaux… j’avais juste enregistrer un « pom polopom »…

My Fast Tracker II period was not so long… the autumn 96, but it let me wrote some differents things i’ve done before… Our pop band finaly found a name : Virtual Music.. and we’ll have an important concert, so we were working on new songs… as this excellent pop song from the german band Fool’s Garden – Lemon Tree. So i had decided to rewrite it in a Dance Version… the result are sure overage, too slow… But it was a great exercice to find notes and chords of the song… I would like to sing it, but there are not enough memory to do that… so i just recorded a « Pom polopom »…

Et voilà, encore un drôle de morceau plus qu’inspiré de Leila K – Open sesames… A la base j’avais juste pioché quelques sons hors du single que Cédric Vanrutten m’avait pretté… puis au final, malgré un titre choisi de Groove Laugh,… j’y ai ajouté ma voix « chantant » : Comon comon i gonna open sesames… vive la gestion mémoire de Fast Tracker II !

Here is once again a special song, inspirated from Leila K – Open Sesames… I’ve first just pick somes sounds out of that song borrowed by my friend Ced… But finally with the power of Fast Tracker II, i decided to recorded my voice « singing » same lyricis than on the dance song.

Devenu rhéto, j’avais enfin accès à la dites « Salle des Rhétos » avec un vieu canapé, des tables pour jouer à la belote et SURTOUT, une veille chaine Hi-Fi, sans lecteur CD, juste un lecteur de K7… Il ne m’en fallait pas plus pour inonder le lieu des musiques de Cyborg Jeff, content où non… je m’incrustait… Et n’aillant pas des horaires très chargés (option Sciences Sociales), j’y étais là bien souvent… Ceci dit… il m’arrivait parfois de laisser la place aux autres… à mon ami Vanoïd (Cédric Vanrutten) qui avait toujours de super bons trucs à me faire découvrir…

Ce jour là, il nous avait amené un K7 enregistré du Real (le Dancing), avec un morceau qui marchait du tonnerre que j’ai alors commencé à écouter, écouter et encore écouter. Mais Ced ne savait rien de ce morceau, son titre, le nom du groupe… Mais il nous avait conquis. Une fois rentré à la maison, je me lançais donc à tenter d’écrire les souvenirs que j’en avais… il y a donc quelques différences avec la version originale de … l’avez vous reconnu ?? Il s’agit bien sur du premier gros tube Trance : B.B.E. – Seven days and one week.

Si Robert Miles et son Children m’auront inspiré plusieurs mois de très nombreuses compositions, il en sera de même pour ce titre qui m’inspirera une « génération » de module jusqu’au moins le printemps 97 !

Le titre s’appellera donc Indice numero 1… en attente d’en trouver plus 😉

Now in last year, we had access to a special room at scool with some sofas, place to play cards and an old Hi-Fi K7 audio installation. There was enough for me to flood of Cyborg Jeff’s music !! Anyway, I sometimes left my place to my friend Cédric Vanrutten that often have some intersting music to let me discover !

That day, he brought a K7 recorded to the Dancing : Real. There was a song that will be a hit and the we listen and listen to that song. Ced didn’t know more about the title or the group of that music… But we liked it ! So, back at home, i tryed to rewrite, what i remember… There is some difference between my song and the original… Did you recognise it ? The first Trance hit : B.B.E. – Seven days and one week.

If Robert Miles and his song Children have inspirated me during a long part of the year 1996, this new song will be the main inspiration of a new generation of songs during the forcoming 6 months !

So i titled this song : Indice number 1 .. as i needed more to know what song i’ve try to remix.

black-box-ride-on-timeVoici donc le Digital Mix 4… ne cherchez pas les autres, enfait je m’étais un peu meler pinceaux entre le Digital Mix 1 réalisé courant mai, et les Dance Mix 1,2,3 réalisé fin 95… Ce titre aurait dû être le Dance Mix 4… mais voilà, bref je me lançais là dans l’idée de faire un nouveau megamix, qui tournera plutôt court. En effet on y retrouve tout d’abord Technotronic – Pump up the Jam (), dont Pierre Versali m’avait trouvé une série de sample, puis ensuite Black Box – Ride on time (), dont j’avais réalisé les samples hors de mon CD The Ultimate House…. à cela s’enchaineront 2 très rapides compositions personnelles : Piano Maestro et Sugar Girl.

Le tout avec un petit Joyeux Anniversaire à mon paternel.

Here come the Digital Mix 4. Don’t search after older one, i have made a mistake… confusing Digital Mix 1 and Dance Mix 1,2,3… That should be the Dance Mix 4. Well i hade a new idea for a megamix… a small megamix using first Technotronic – Pump up the jam, that my friend Pierre Versali found me in soundtracker format, then Black Box – Ride on time that i’ve sample some instrument from the CD Compilation The Ultimate House… then I added to personnal compositions in that mood calling : Piano Maestro and Sugar Girl.

PinocchioLes 2 premiers tubes du groupe italien Pin-Occhio ont sacrément bien marché en Europe en 1993. Il existe d’ailleurs de nombreux modules Sound Tracker à leur sujet, essentiellement concernant le titre Tu ta tu ta ta, que j’avais moi même tenté de remixer un an plus tôt. Dans la lignée de 2 autres modules dit « remix », je me lançais ici à faire quelques choses avec l’album de Pin-Occhio que mon ami Vivien Vanoirbeek m’avait également pretté, mélangeant donc les 2 titres les plus connus avec le 3° single Pinocchio Vaï ainsi que Bum Bum et Enjoy the muzik.

Hormis les 2 premiers tubes les deux producteurs italiens Marco Biondi et Nicola Savino n’ont pas vraiment ré-édité l’exploit. Le premier titre Pinocchio était une version techno de la bande son du film « Les Aventures de Pinnochio » composée par Fiorenzo Capri. Si j’ai longtemps pensé que récemment le groupe Pakito avait repris le thème de Tuta tu ta ta dans ce single, c’est que tout deux étaient en réalité une reprise de Living on a video de la formatiation canadienne Trans-X.

Sans aucun lien pourtant, avec le succès de Pinocchio chez nous, une série de compilation dans le même genre débarqueront dans les rayons, à l’effigie de Beep Beep, les Catroons techno melodies, ou le retrouvera Pinnochio, Blanche neige, Vil le coyotte… sur des morceaux techno hardcore !

The two first hits of the italian formation Pin-Occhio have been spotted in the European 93’s market. There’s lot of sound tracker version of those one, especially from the song Tuta tu ta ta, that i’ve also try to remix one year before. In the movement of the 2 others remixs of that 28 july 1996, i was working on a third track mixing the different songs from the album of Pin-occhio, once again borrowed by my friend Vivien.

Except those 2 hits the two italian producer Marco Biondi and Nicola Savino never released such new’s productions. The first song Pinocchio was a techno version of the soundtrack of the movies « The adventure of Pinocchio » written by Fiorenzo Capri and If i had longly thought that Pakito have re-used the theme of Tuta tu ta ta, i was wrong. Those theme came from an eighties songs from Trans-X – Living on a video.

Few times after the success of the single Pinocchio, 2 compilations called Cartoons Techno melodies came from Italia with techno mix of White Snow, Popeye, Heidi, Beep Beep… and the techno version of Pinnochio.

236. 1000 nights and one ‘personnal club mix 3’

1000 nights and oneC’est assez marrant car ce petit remix d’un morceau Techno de la formation allemande East Beat Syndicate n’a rien de bien extraordinaire… Juste une tentative de faire une version module d’un des singles bons marchés achetés chez GB pendant les soldes… Le morceau original n’a d’ailleurs rien d’extraordinaire non plus… mais au vue du nom de fichiers 1001.S3M, ce module a souvent été téléchargé sur l’ancien site web, présentant les titres par ordre alphabétique.

Pour l’histoire, Damon Hill venait de remporter le GP d’Allemagne sur Williams Renault devant Jean Alesi et Jacques Villeneuve.

That’s fun, cause this little remix of the techno track’s of the german formation East Beat Syndicate is just an average work. Just trying to rewrite in soundtracker format that CD singles cheaply bought in GB. But the songfile named 1001.S3M was first presented in the download section of my older website…
