549. Mix of 1993

mixed by Cyborg Jeff (Pierre Martin) Impulse Tracker II – Cyrix 166 – MP3

Vous y reconnaitrez donc entre autre : 2 Unlimited – Tribal Dance, Robin S. – Show me love, TC 1993 – Harmony, Capricorn – 20hz, Mr Jackson – Mo’kassa, Jens – Psycho string, …

In april 1998, i’ll add some more mega of memory in my new computer. So i would be able to import more samples in Impulse Tracker. During that time i like to write some new megamix. This one especialy use samples coming from the Arcade compilation : Turn up the bass 25.

You will probably recognise songs from 2 Unlimited, Robin S., TC 1993, Capricorn, Mr Jackson, Jens,…

Some years later, i decided to delete the original 1993.IT files as it was bigger than the MP3 version.

241. Siciliana (Hocus Pocus remix III)

Mc Piet ( Phillip – Bach – Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – S3M

Unimaginable mix of a Trance/Rave track and the song my brother Pype learning with his classical guitar. The first version was not enough intersting, so i’ve mixed it in a Robert Miles style with Rave samples from the start of the nineties.

Dans ce mégamix on retrouve Get ready for this, Twilight Zone, No Limit, No One, Tribal Dance, Let the beat control your body, Nothing like the rain, Maximum overdrive et Faces

So well, remember that few month ago, i spoke about my friend Sebastien Valenti who give me for my birthday the CD Best of of the cult euro-dance formation 2 Unlimited. So i made a megamix in sound tracker format today ! and why not speak about that formation again ?

In 1991 i discovered the hit Get ready for this. I was crazy about that synthe sound and the melody was so different than the other Techno Rave track from that period… During the birthday of Laurence Thurion, i find it on the CD Compiltation Turn up the Bass… But at that moment, they have new hits : Twilight Zone and Workaholic. Twilight Zone was also the generic music from an RTBF broadcast, presented by Sam Touzami, speaking about new video games…

In 1990 the two belgian producer and compositors Jean Paul Decoster and Phil Wilde launch their first production under the name « Bizz Nizz ». In 91, they met Ray Slijngaard (the rapper), introduced by their common friend Marvin D from the formation Quadrophonia. Ray work in the same place than Anita who also sing after his work in a female rap formation : Trouble Sister. Ray first sing in the Bizz Nizz last single, but Phill and Jean-Paul have just finished a new song that could be more intersting with vocal parts.. They propose the project to Ray and Anita… 2 Unlimited was borned.. Get Ready for this will be 1st in UK, 4th in Belgium, and 2nd in Australia… and also NBA official sound track…

Cyborg Jeff (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – S3M

Turn up the bass 19Aaah quelle chance tout de même de pouvoir retrouver pour une centaine de francs (2,5€) une bonne série de CD compilation Turn up the Bass, dont j’étais fan il y avait 5 ans de celà. Je m’attaquais donc à faire quelques choses des samples tirés du Turn up the Bass 19, Westbam et The Ultimate Seduction notamment.

Hehe, what a luck to found back for few money the Turn up the Bass CD compilation that i loved 5 years ago. So i worked around new samples getting out of tracks as Westbam and The Ultimate Seduction.

Cyborg Jeff (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – S3M

turn up the bass 24Morceau techno réalisé au départ de nouveaux samples que j’avais tiré du CD Turn up the Bass 24, récemment acquis.

New techno song written with new samples i’ve made out of my new CD Turn up the Bass 24. You could recognise a loop guitare from TC Berry – Funky Guitare 92 as main part of the song, … but also sounds from Usura (Club 22).

2 Unlimited - Hits Unlimited
2 Unlimited – Hits Unlimited

Aaaaah, a great, great thanks to my friend Sebastien Valenti for his present for my brithday. The Best of album of 2 Unlimited. I remember that i was realy astonnished by that, cause at that time, we were just teenagers and buying a CD needed lot of sacrifices. A that time, there’s no Sash! nor Robert Miles, and my favorite Dance band was the dutch formation 2 Unlimited well known for the hits : No Limit, Maximum Overdrive or Get Ready for This.

My bedroom was full of posters of Ray and Anita, and i had back off the Benny B’s one.

I discovered that band in 1991 witht the song Get ready for this. I was crazy of that sounds and i can’t find it on vinyl. I just have found 2 megamix using it as the Dance Computer 7.

So, i began to samples sounds from that album especially the sound of Get ready for this.

Mc Piet (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Avec les samples récupérés dernièrement de mes compilations Turn up the Bass, j’ai eu envie d’en faire un peu plus, en partant de sons de Chestnut – Pot of Gold, et Sequencial Big Boom, je me suis donc fait un morceau techno hardcore, également du nom de Pot of Gold… un petit cadeau pour DJ Dub (Christophe Deblire) et Caro (Caroline Lepaily)

With the samples from the Turn up the Bass, i would like to create more, so i re-used sounds from Chestnut – Pot of Gold et Sequencial – Big Boom… in a techno hardcore songs also called « Pot of Gold ».

112. Turn up the Bass vol. 21 – the megamix

mixed by Mc Piet (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

21 de ma nouvelle compilation Turn up the Bass.

On y retrouve : The cover girls – Wishing on a star, Sequencial – Big Boom, Berkie Bell – I’ll never know, Gat Decor – Passion, Bass Bumper – The music’s got me, The brand new heavies – Stay this way, Chestnut – Pot of gold, Studio X – Los king del man, Phenomenia – String of love, Napoleon – Fortuna, Charly Lownoise – Speed City.

I will not write here a long story for this megamix, as it is just the next project as the one called number 22 finished few hours later. Anyway this one is more intersting.

You could find sounds of : The Cover Girls, Sequencial, Berkie Bell, Gat Decor, Bass Bumper, The Brand new Havies, Chesnut, Studio X, Phenomenia, Napoleon and Charly Lownoise.

111. Turn up the bass vol. 22 – the megamix

mixed by Mc Piet (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Year 1995 was close to be finished and so, i try to realised 2 megamix before the familly dinner. I choose the vol. 22 of my both Turn up up the Bass first. I should explain you how i worked at that time to prepare the sounds of my megamix on Fast Tracker II.

At that time, we don’t have MP3 files, nor the possibility to import the song in a .WAV file on my computer, as my hard drive only have 40mo, that was not so bad for that time.

So i should prepare the timing of the sample i need to record from my Sanyo CD player and then go few secondes reward. Then plug a cable on the headphone output and then also in the audio input of my sound card. Then i should blindly record few seconds and then crop it with Fast Tracker II.

In this mix i use sounds from Lil’ Louis, P. Fernandez, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Ultra Nate, Jam & Spoon and Precious X Project.

110. Waxattack ’95 rmx’

Mc Piet ( Ridderhof – Garnefski- Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Bref, aillant retrouver le morceau Waxattack – Yesss ! sur mon CD Turn up the Bass vol.

Waxattack is techno formation from 1992 that have released some track with great sounds. The authors Ferry Ridderhof & Peter Garnefski also have been known with other techno formations with a different style as Hocus Pocus, Vicious Delicious or X-Orgasmic… So Welle, i found the track Waxattack – Yesss! on my CD Turn up the Bass vol. 22 and i had decided to do something with it on Scream Tracker and adding some sounds of 2 Unlimited – Magic Friend.
