Et bien qu’importe, malgré une tête en moins, ce cher Cyborg Jeff se voulait vous en offrir plus ! C’était il y a 20 ans, je sortais d’une ablation de la thyroïde sous hypnose… non cela ne s’invente pas ! Cyborg Jeff, on lui a coupé la tête racontait alors les petits Worms de mon ami Valentin.

Débordant d’enthousiasme à la découverte des compositions de Benoit ‘MAF’ Charcosset dans mon magasine PC TEAM, je me lançais à composer mon « CJ-Land » en exploitant les codes musicaux propres au Soundtracker français. Verra alors le jour ce « Play at CJ Land », un titre complètement dingue qui sera même pendant plusieurs années la bande son du Club de Gymnastique sérésien « La Salamandre » et qui fera même son retour dans la bande son du jeu Crazy Brix en 1999.
Avec sa gestion de béat et tempo complexe dans Impulse Tracker, le travail de remastering de ce titre n’aura pas été simple !

Overflowing with enthusiasm to discover the compositions of Benoit ‘MAF’ Charcosset in my PC TEAM magazine, I started to compose my « CJ-Land » by exploiting the musical codes specific to the French Soundtracker. « Play at CJ Land » will then see the light of day, a completely crazy title which will even be for several years the soundtrack of the Seresian Gymnastics Club « La Salamandre » and which will even make its return in the soundtrack of the game Crazy Brix in 1999. .
With its management of bliss and complex tempo in Impulse Tracker, the job of remastering this title will not have been easy !

Alors que mon ami et co-kotteur Hunter (Didier Rombauts) était resté malade sur Liège, je me retrouvais pour la semaine tout seul à Louvain la Neuve. Je profitais donc de mes soirées plus qu’à l’habitude pour travailler à de nouvelles compositions au départ de mon synthé Roland. Plus que probablement fortement inspiré par la découverte du titre Van Halen – Jump que nous travaillions dans mon groupe de musique Virtual Music, je cherchais à écrire quelques choses s’approchant du style pour notre groupe.
Grâce au séquenceur basique intégré dans mon Synthé, je pouvais enregistrer au format MIDI l’idée que j’avais trouvée ce soir là. Non pas pour l’importer dans mon ordinateur, mais surtout pour ne pas la perdre et pouvoir y revenir plus tard lorsque je la programmerai sous Impulse Tracker utilisant des sons sampler du Roland mais également du synthé Casio de mon ami Vivien Vanoirbeek.
In a Virtual life était donc né, un titre qui même s’il souffre de sonorité trop midi à l’heure actuelle, a de quoi ressortir du lot de mes nombreuses compositions ! D’ailleurs, de part son énergie si particulière il sera utilisé de nombreuses années dans le club de Gymnastique Sportive et Rythmique de La Salamandre de Seraing où ma soeur Marie entraînait de jeunes gymnastes.
My friends Hunter left me alone in Louvain-La-Neuve, so i worked hard on new musical projets with my Roland keyboard. I was probably inspirated from Van-Halen – Jump that i worked in my pop band Virtual Music during i’m working on this new track.
With the help of the integrated basic sequencer of my Roland, i would be able to record in MIDI format the actual project i’ve found on my keyboard to work on it later with Impulse Tracker.
In a Virtual life was born and the track still now could be spotted out of the large number of tracks i’ve written. As if right now, it may be sound too much as a MIDI file due to the use of samples from my Roland and the Casio keyboard of my friend Vivien Vanoirbeek.
During long years that song was used by the G.R.S. club « La Salamandre » from Seraing where my sister Marie was member.
