Sur base de quelques samples, dont un tiré de Urban Cookies Collective, voici un dernier petit hommage directe à Boris,… et Pleasure Games. « Hey Boris tu dors ? » évidemment un clin d’oeil à un titre plus ancien « Le Dormeur »…

Working around some new samples including one out of a single of Urban Cookies Collective, here is the last hommage to Boris and … Pleasure Games called « Hey Boris, your asleep ». Clin d’oeil to an old song from Pleasure Games – Le Dormeur.

L.A. Style - James Brown is DeadAllé hop, les vacances ne sont pas encore finie, je m’applique donc à profiter un maximum encore de tous mes achats de CDs bon marché, pour agrandir mon stock de samples. Voici donc 2 modules « megamix » issus de la compilation Génértion Dance de 1991.

On y retrouve les titres suivants : Pleasure Games – Le seigneur des ténèbres, L.A. Style – James Brown is dead, T. Birds – Birds dance, Modular Expans – Cube, PWM – Are your ready to move, Digital Boy – Okay ! All right, Phenomenia – Who is Elvis, Chimo Bayo ) Asi me gusta mi, 2 Horns – Réveil trompette, 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor – Turn da music up.

So, holiday were not over, then i continue to use my time to create music with the low cost CDs i’ve bought. Here is 2 megamix soundtrack from the old 91’s compilation Génération Dance.

Le DormeurPeut on vraiment parlé d’un Remix ?? A l’époque, en mode Tracker, j’avais 2 options pour faire un remix, soit je tentais au mieux possible de me rapprocher du morceau original, soit je me lançais dans un morceau à la mélodie similaire (pour peu que ce dernier en aie une), soit enfin, je construis un morceau au fond, qui n’a pas grand chose à voir avec l’original et j’y greffe des sons et voix qui rapellent l’original… Et c’est le cas de ce remix de Pleasure Games – Le Dormeur… au fond hormis le sample vocal d’origine… on a droit à un morceau techno sans plus !

Could we realy speak about Remix ? At this time, with my Scream Tracker, i had 3 options to write a song that i could tagged Remix. Creating a song the most close of the original one. Trying to write a song with a similar melodie of the original one. Or finally writing a personnal song using vocal samples of the original one.. That what i’ve done here with this basic techno song, using a mellow organ bass and the « Le Dormeur » vocal sample from the Pleasure Games original song.

Bien que s’appelant No Limits Remix, ce morceau n’a du titre de 2 Unlimited que les mêmes instruments… En réalité, c’est d’un titre du groupe Def Dames Dope que je me suis inspiré pour la mélodie… titre cependant composé par la même équipe que 2 Unlimited… Ici en Wallonie et France, ce groupe flamand post Spice Girls fut nettement moins connu… Moi j’avais tout de suite accroché dès le premier titre en 1992, et je possède d’ailleurs plusieurs de leur Single !

Une fois de plus, les crédits imaginaire étaient alors : Salut à Allecap (Capella), Mage & Moon (Jam & Spoon), 2 Unlimited, Erasure Games (Pleasure Games), 2 on the 4th (2 Brothers on the 4Th Flower), UCC (Urban Cookies Collective), OG Cul Tune (GO Culture),… Bref, les groupes que j’écoutais à l’époque !

As if this track call No Limits Remix, this song only use the same instrument than the 2 Unlimited’s one… In fact, it’s most a remix of the Def Dames Dope’s song that inspirated me the melody. This song was written by the same compositors than 2 Unlimited. Here in Wallonie and France, this flamish post-Spice Girls band was not so known… I discover it in 1992, and have bought many CD Singles that i still own.

Once again, you could recognise some great Euro-Dance band in my imaginary credits : Hello to Allecap (Capella), Mage & Moon (Jam & Spoon), 2 Unlimited, Erasures Games (Pleasure Games), 2 on the 4th (2 Brothers on the 4Th Flower), UCC (Urban Cookies Collective), OG Cul Tune (GO Culture),…
