Mc Piet (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Avec un cri de guerre tel le clan des Mac Dingeling (voir La Ribambelle en Ecosse de Roba), voici donc la révolution musicale en marche. Enfin je pouvais me mettre à la création musicale à la maison, grâce à la nouvelle trouvaille : Scream Tracker III, trouvé au fin fond d’un CD PC Team pretté par mon ami Xavier Van Hoorick. Moins recherché graphiquement, ce nouveau soft allait être mon compagnon d’arme pendant plus d’un an. Dans un premier temps, l’outil était encore sous-exploité, puisque seul le format MOD 4 Channels m’intéressait, seul compatible avec mon petit player .MOD. Par contre, avec ce nouvel outil, il m’était possible d’importer des samples autres qu’au format .SMP et nottament au format .VOC,… Je pouvais donc utilisé notre modeste micro et le logiciel d’enregistrement livré avec notre carte son Master Boomer, ainsi que repiocher dans la banque de sons de nos jeux réalisés sous Game Maker !

C’était les vacances de Toussaint, et j’avais également ressorti mon C64 pour tester quelques disquettes de jeux de mon ami Pascal Matta, dont Blue Max et Wonder Boy.

As a war’s scream from the Mac Dingeling (cf La Ribambelle en Ecosse from Roba), here is my revolution ! I Finally be able to create music at home with this new stuff : Scream Tracker III, found in a PC Team’s CD borrowed by my friend Xavier Van Hoorick. With a clean interface, this new soft would be my fellow during one complete year ! First not full used, i just focused on the MOD 4 Channels format, compatible with my MS-DOS Player. But this new tool let import other format than .SMP samples, as the .VOC that i could record my selft with my small microphone and the recording tools of my Master Boomer. I also could use many other vocal samples that i had found for my Game Maker’s games.

Thoses days, i re-install my C64 to play some games as Blue Max and Wonder Boy.
