Few years before my bros starts to work on Out’m up, I still hoped my PPP Team Software works on Shoot’m up game also fun than the C64 game i discovered in the end of the eighties : Armalyte… An R-Type clone developped by Thalamus in 1988 where we could play with to ships in the same time… I’ve imagined a story around that concept, starring the big starship PolyCosmos that need 5 independent module to be created… as the big robot of the Bioman series…
Alien Shock would be a part of the audio track of this game, but i’ve never launch the concept except a poor shoot’m up game called Cosmo War, realised with the game maker and ripping some sprites from Zone 66.
Alien Shock received some remixes in 2005 and 2006 by EvilPni, member of the Trackers@Work communauty.
Vous pourrez retrouver : Crazy Sample 1 et 2 (Red, The Judge,1987), Movie Monster (Bob Viera, Epyx, 1986), RDS (Electronic Arts), Goshts’n Goblins (Mark Cooksey,Capcom-Elite, 1986), Formula One Grand Prix (Dave Lowe,Microprose,1991)
I quickly be addicted of the musics produced on the Commodore 64, both for specific sounds and melodies. As soon as i would be able to do it, i recorded it on audio tape to be able to listen easely those games and demos sound track.
That day, i decided to rewrite a meldey out of the songs of one of my compilation, not be close to the original sounds, just rewrite the melodies.. this medley include : Crazy Sample 1 et 2 (Red, The Judge,1987), Movie Monster (Bob Viera, Epyx, 1986), RDS (Electronic Arts), Goshts’n Goblins (Mark Cooksey,Capcom-Elite, 1986), Formula One Grand Prix (Dave Lowe,Microprose,1992)
Here is a new chiptunes track where I try to be close to the Commodore 64 ambients : with smooth electronic sounds, arpeggiators and using 3 tracks only. Anyway, i was far of the SID rendering. My drums is too realistic and electronic samples sounds Gameboy.
This is not a remix of Space Harrier SEGA’s game as if that game inspirated me this non pretention soundtrack. A lunar trance essai where i add a new animation inspirated by Space Harrier C64 version of the game i played when i was young.
I love the The SID sound processor of the C64 since a long time ago… Sure the first game i played on this computer not use its power, anyway soundtracks as the one from the game LOCO64 (using a Jean-Michel Jarre arrangement) and later the one from Chris Huelsbeck or Rob Hubbard were excellent !
In the start of the nineties i was recording my C64 music game on audio tape… so here is the start of this production. My brother Pype had created some tiny loop samples to be close to the C64 sounds. Sure there should a lot of work to be more closer, anyway it could be among my first Chiptune creation, using the 6 tracks compatibiliy of the PPP Team Software S3M Player.
So here is a Trance/Dream essai,… that remember my first approche of musical software… At that time i was 8 years old and discovering Dancing Feats on my Commodore 64, a program from Artic Software developped by Christopher Chance. That was just a basic software where you control chord of your sequencer after choosing your style… that show you funny musical bars on screen (on my screen green bar)… Unfortunatly no video found on the web.
Aaaah The Great Giana Sisters, my favorite game on my Commodore 64, and as i had re-install mine in my bedroom, i had the idea to remix it in Dance module. At this time i don’t know that this music was originaly written by Chris Huelsbeck, but it’s not to late to mention it ! May be, with the time, this remix is a sacrilege.. anyway it’s my first game remix !
Those day, between my different music creation i played on my C64 to Outrun, Shinobi, a small baskett game, Zaxxon and Freak Out…
