360. Dance Mix 9

mixed by Cyborg Jeff (Martin) Impulse Tracker II – Pentium 120 – IT

Vous y reconnaitrez peut-être : Winx – Don’t Laught, 2 Unlimited – Maximum Overdrive, Double Vision – Knockin’ , Lolo Ferrari – Airbag Generation, T-Spoon – A part of my life, René & Perran – Give it, Deep Zone – It’s gonna be, Pizzaman – Sex in the street, Tempo sur Tempo – Move you, DJ Sash! – Encore une fois, Ice Mc – It’s a rainy day, H2SO4 – Do it, Faithless – Insomniak ou DJ MD – Rio.

Small techno track written in 6 channels mode to be compatible with the S3M player realised by my bros Pype in Assembler. You could smelt the inspiration coming from 2 Unlimited – Twilight Zone and may be recognize a sample coming from U96 – Das Boat.

Dans ce mégamix on retrouve Get ready for this, Twilight Zone, No Limit, No One, Tribal Dance, Let the beat control your body, Nothing like the rain, Maximum overdrive et Faces

So well, remember that few month ago, i spoke about my friend Sebastien Valenti who give me for my birthday the CD Best of of the cult euro-dance formation 2 Unlimited. So i made a megamix in sound tracker format today ! and why not speak about that formation again ?

In 1991 i discovered the hit Get ready for this. I was crazy about that synthe sound and the melody was so different than the other Techno Rave track from that period… During the birthday of Laurence Thurion, i find it on the CD Compiltation Turn up the Bass… But at that moment, they have new hits : Twilight Zone and Workaholic. Twilight Zone was also the generic music from an RTBF broadcast, presented by Sam Touzami, speaking about new video games…

In 1990 the two belgian producer and compositors Jean Paul Decoster and Phil Wilde launch their first production under the name « Bizz Nizz ». In 91, they met Ray Slijngaard (the rapper), introduced by their common friend Marvin D from the formation Quadrophonia. Ray work in the same place than Anita who also sing after his work in a female rap formation : Trouble Sister. Ray first sing in the Bizz Nizz last single, but Phill and Jean-Paul have just finished a new song that could be more intersting with vocal parts.. They propose the project to Ray and Anita… 2 Unlimited was borned.. Get Ready for this will be 1st in UK, 4th in Belgium, and 2nd in Australia… and also NBA official sound track…

216. The somniak ‘Air Mix’

Cyborg Jeff (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – S3M

I should admit that i began to be good to write such kind of Air music, mixing Dream and Rave sounds. That time i added some ethnic pan flute to the piano’s melody and a kwel « Somniak » vocal sample from the nineties, with only 8 tracks. The last songs for some days, cause i’ll began to study for my exams.

I invite you to have a look to that screen caputre of an Impulse Tracker rendering realised with the free tools « ScreenToaster ».

2 Unlimited - Hits Unlimited
2 Unlimited – Hits Unlimited

Aaaaah, a great, great thanks to my friend Sebastien Valenti for his present for my brithday. The Best of album of 2 Unlimited. I remember that i was realy astonnished by that, cause at that time, we were just teenagers and buying a CD needed lot of sacrifices. A that time, there’s no Sash! nor Robert Miles, and my favorite Dance band was the dutch formation 2 Unlimited well known for the hits : No Limit, Maximum Overdrive or Get Ready for This.

My bedroom was full of posters of Ray and Anita, and i had back off the Benny B’s one.

I discovered that band in 1991 witht the song Get ready for this. I was crazy of that sounds and i can’t find it on vinyl. I just have found 2 megamix using it as the Dance Computer 7.

So, i began to samples sounds from that album especially the sound of Get ready for this.

So, for the Saint Valentin, i not have written a love song, but once again a techno song using sounds i sampled from 2 Unlimited and The Ultimate Seduction.

151. Get A way ‘digit mix’

Mc Piet ( Hitman – O’Neil – Torpey – Dawhite – Bokoe – Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – S3M

MAXX.

In 1994, the Euro-Dance music began to invade all the charts not only with 2 Unlimited but also with new formation as 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor, Twenty 4 Seven, Ice Mc, Culture Beat… or MAXX. This new german team launched a new hit better than Culture Beat – Mr Vain, called : Get a Way.

I still would like to realise my own remix, but my small computer with just 40mhz processor and 1mo of memory will not enought for that. As just listening music on it is not easy, as we don’t have CD-Rom player, and the MP3 will not arrived. I’ve just able to record .VOC files on 22khz and only few seconds. So i had the idea to digitalize some loo that i’ll use to rewrite a 3 minutes songs, working on order structure. That was my concept of that Get A Way project.

For the story, if this first song of MAXX was a HIT, the other one will have no succes. No More was too close of the first song… but also from Mr Vain and I Can’t Stand It was too different from the MAXX spirit. About the two other singles , i had never heard it before today, as if the last one « Move your body » let me think to another formation from 96 : The Outhere Brothers. MAXX producer also work for Real Mc Coy and Boris Kohler the singer/rapper also have worked before MAXX project on Snow – Informer.

147. Speed Away

Mc Piet (Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Re-using the samples from my synthesizer Yamaha, somes from the Parmesan’s Roland and from the module Smoky Day of Valyum, i tryed again to write a euroDance song with vocal sampling, in the mood of songs i’ve written few month ago as « Let’s go the paradise » or « I give me more »… and also probably inspirated from Maximum Overdrive from 2 Unlimited.

110. Waxattack ’95 rmx’

Mc Piet ( Ridderhof – Garnefski- Martin) Scream Tracker III – 80386 DX 40 – MOD

Bref, aillant retrouver le morceau Waxattack – Yesss ! sur mon CD Turn up the Bass vol.

Waxattack is techno formation from 1992 that have released some track with great sounds. The authors Ferry Ridderhof & Peter Garnefski also have been known with other techno formations with a different style as Hocus Pocus, Vicious Delicious or X-Orgasmic… So Welle, i found the track Waxattack – Yesss! on my CD Turn up the Bass vol. 22 and i had decided to do something with it on Scream Tracker and adding some sounds of 2 Unlimited – Magic Friend.
